Classic tour San Valentín in Almeria
Subject to pandemic restrictions, a new edition of the Almería Classic will take place on February 14.
The 34-edition of this Almeria test is now part of the one-day tests with the longest tradition in Europe.
The whole Spanish team is back, led by Movistar (the only Spanish team in the World Tour category) without forgetting the four professional teams: Burgos BH, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Kern Pharma and Euskaltel-Euskadi.
Other UCI teams such as Cofidis or Astana-Premier Tech are also underlined. The latter count on the outstanding presence of the Basque cyclist Álex Aranburu and the Italian sprinter Davide Martinelli as the best riders.
The approximately 195-kilometer route along four mountain passes mainly leads through the Cycling Friendly municipality of Roquetas de Mar, a spot that has been heavily involved in cycle tourism in the region in recent years.
The Hotel Bahía Serena Welcomes the UCI teams
On this occasion, the UCI category teams stay at the hotel Bahía Serena, in Roquetas de Mar, with the certification “Cycling Friendly”. The idyllic location (only a few meters from the beach), close to a range of cycle paths or its extensive cycling center have made this hotel a favorite of profs and triathletes as well as amateurs eager to spend a cycling holiday in the region.
Where can you see the appointment live?
As always, Eurosport will be responsible for broadcasting the cycling event on television for Europe. Also in streaming via GCN
Let’s see who succeeds the German cyclist Pascal Ackerman, the winner of the last two editions of the Clásica de Almería.
