EKOC, the self-service challenge
Between January and June 2021, the regions of Enkarterri and Meatzaldea (Biscay) organize the Enkarterri Open Challenge (EKOC), an adaptive event of more than 500 kilometers, organized by Enkartur in which the participant decides when and how. But how is such an event organized?
To launch this original challenge, several individual circuits have been developed which can be completed in the modality determined by each participant, choosing between MTB, trail or trekking. Once the modality has been chosen, participants can also decide on the difficulty of the circuit (marathon or half-marathon in the case of MTB, and a more or less long course in the other two modalities), at each of the six fixed locations of the challenge.
Each month the challenge will be opened at one of the marked places, the starting point will be given in Sodupe (Güeñes), a territory of Indians that will take us to little known spots but with an invaluable historical heritage.
How to fulfill each round
Since this is a challenge that suits the taste of the participant, the event has an application that allows participants to know the route, complete it and validate their classification.
In addition, the organizers have already provided for the possibility of extending the duration of the challenge in case of reduced mobility due to the pandemic.
How can I register?
To be able to register for the Enkarterri Open Challenge you can hacer clic aquí (click here). You will be able to choose whether you want to participate only in a specific location or if you feel strong emotions and bet on the full challenge, which has a deadline of January 17th. If you choose apuestas por el desafío completo (the full challenge), you will receive, in addition to the track of the six circuits to be completed, a technical jersey or shirt and a commemorative diploma of the event.
Without a doubt, the best way to start the year with renewed energy.
