Bike touring in Bormio

But biking in Bormio is not just road biking. If you head into the Stelvio National Park you can enjoy a multitude of MTB and gravel trails, or descend the Bormio Bike Park in Santa Caterina if you’re an Enduro fanatic. And if it’s snowy season in the Bormio Mountains, you can always try to explore this picturesque region on a Fatbike.

If you are a fan of road biking, epic challenges such as Stelvio, Gavia or Mortirolo await you, as well as cross-border routes such as the Bernina Pass, which will allow you to travel from Italy to Switzerland and cross the valley of Sant Moritz. In the case of the Stelvio, we can complete three different challenges: Bormio – Passo Umbrail, Bormio – Passo Stelvio and Prato allo Stelvio – Bormio. And in the case of Gavia and Mortirolo, in both cases we will have to ascend more than 1,300 m with an average slope reaching 14% in some kilometers.

On the other hand, if you like to get lost in the mountains on your MTB, heading into the Stelvio National Park and be immersed in a natural space to merge into. Not in vain, this natural park is made up of about 600 kilometers of MTB trails, along old paths lined with an abundance of flora and fauna. Val di Rezzalo, Santa Caterina Valfurva, Decauville, Livigno… there’s no shortage of options, whether you’re a beginner or a pro. And if you find it difficult, you can always rent an ebike to explore Bormio.
