Ciclovolta

The second edition of Ciclovolta in Catalonia is scheduled for July 10. A cycling event whose first edition was held in 2021 to celebrate the 100th edition of the Volta a Catalunya, a milestone only within reach of historic events such as the Tour de France or the Giro d’Italia.

After the success of the first edition, the organization hopes that the CicloVolta, starting in Camprodón and ending in Vallter, a special category climb, will establish itself as one of the most special events on the national scene.

Registration

Registration for the event opens on February 10. In the case of the Gran Ciclovolta, the price will be 45 euros for federated members and 53 euros for non-federated members. In the case of the Mitja CicloVolta, the price is 45 euros for non-federated members and 53 euros for non-federated members. All registered participants will be provisioned throughout the route and will enjoy a closing party in Vallter.

The stage

The route consists of two distances, the Gran Ciclovolta and the Mitja Ciclovolta. The Gran CicloVolta is a 157 km route, starting from Camprodon and going through Camprodon, Ripoll, Coll de Canes, Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Sant Pau de Segúries, Castellfollit de la Roca, Port d’Oix, Port de Rocabruna, Setcases and Vallter. A demanding distance with more than 3,400 m of cumulative slope. The demanding final at Vallter, with an average gradient of 7.6% and a summit at over 2,000 m above sea level, will be a real challenge for the participants.

The Mitja CicloVolta is made up of 90 km crossing Ripoll, Coll de Canes, Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Setcases and Vallter. As in the long distance, the ascent to Vallter will be the most demanding moment, with a cumulative gradient of 2,500 m.
