Oncobike

Girona will host the 5th edition of the Oncobike on October 21, 2023. Organized by the Fundació Oncolliga Girona, the Club Ciclista Sant Gregori and Cingles de la Llémena, this MTB event is both a sporting and united challenge for all enthusiasts of MTB.

With the nerve center of the race located in the municipality of Sant Gregori, place of departure and arrival, entirely by roads and tracks of the municipalities that make up the Mancomunitat de la Vall de Llémena.

The event has two routes: one of 200 km and the other a little shorter than 110 km. You must participate in teams of minimum 6 cyclists. Team members can do relays, although there should always be two on a course. This relay format will allow MTB enthusiasts of all levels to participate in the event on a course with few technical difficulties.

To participate in the Oncobike, each team must donate 500 euros to the Fundació Oncolliga Girona. Donations that will be used to improve the living conditions of cancer patients and their families.

The route

Vall de Llémena is the place chosen for the challenge. The environment of Les Gironés and La Garrotxa is one of the best preserved natural landscapes in the region. Sant Gregori, point of departure and arrival, is just 10 minutes from Girona. The different teams must follow the route of the race by GPS. The Oncobike organization will publish the route so that participants can download it and learn about the route.

From Sant Gregor to each of the municipalities of Vall de Llémena, a conglomerate of villages and unique farms. This is a unique opportunity to discover the region on pedals.

Along the route there will be seven controls, dividing the route into 8 sections. It is in these places that the participants will be able to carry out the corresponding relays, always with a minimum of two cyclists per team and section.
