Description
The sixth edition of the Pirinexus Challenge, as part of Sea Otter Europe, is scheduled for September 2023. This event is a non-stop circular challenge of no less than 340 km on the famous PIRINEXUS route.
Participants will cross all types of terrain, asphalt roads and some urban sections. This is an event where any type of biking is allowed, although the organization recommends the use of gravel or cyclocross bikes. Once the race has started with a type of bike, it cannot be changed to another during the challenge.
The participants will start this great challenge through the regions of Girona following the Ter road to the Colomers dam, from where they will begin the climb to the Gavarres mountains, to enjoy a magnificent view from the top of the mountains to Gironès and Empordà.
The organization recommends having a support team if they are registered on a non-stop basis, which can have up to two people who can provide support at the aid stations.
The race
Participants have 18 h. to complete the epic challenge of the Pirinexus Challenge. Due to the length of the course, many of them finish the night race. It will also have three crossing points with a time limit in each that the participants must overcome. Everyone who succeeds will receive a trophy to commemorate having passed the challenge. 340 km with a slope of 3000 m.
Registration
Registration for the race includes entry to the festival site, participation in the event, bib, jersey, finisher trophy, medical assistance and refreshments. The price without a jersey is 90 euros and with a jersey is 120 euros.
