Pontevedra 4 Picos Bike Desafío Rías Baixas

On May 13, 2023, we will have the opportunity to experience a new edition of one of the benchmark MTB events in Spain: the Pontevedra 4 Picos Bike Challenge Rías Baixas. This non-competitive event is a challenge year after year for its participants, and can be done individually, in pairs or in groups of 3.

Registration

The registration period opens on December 1 and prices will vary between 35 and 45 euros depending on the stage at which the athletes register. The registration deadline is April 30. These costs are increased by 2.9 if the optional return insurance is selected, by 30 euros in the case of the commemorative jersey, and by 45 euros if in addition to the jersey we also want the coulotte.

Participants who benefit from reimbursement insurance can request the full amount of their registration before May 12, 2022. The maximum capacity for the race will be a total of 1,800 MTB lovers.

The route

Take part in two possible routes. The long distance climbs the four peaks that surround the city of Pontevedra, 132 km with a positive slope of 2,800 m. Over the short distance, 66 km with a positive slope of 1600 m.

In a route full of climbs, descents, tracks, singletracks and trails, participants must climb Monte Xaxán, A Fracha, O Acibal and the Castrove in a single meeting.

The Palacio de Congresos de Pontevedra (Conference Center) welcomes the start, and will be neutralized in the first 2.5 kilometers. Different outputs will be established for the participants according to the time that each participant has estimated to complete the test. The established times will be scheduled between 8:15 am and 8:45 am for the long route, and at 9:00 am for the short or 2 peak outing.

The end of the test will be at 3:00 p.m. in the case of the 2 peaks and at 8:00 p.m. in the case of the 4 peaks.

Race Conditions

Event registration includes timing service with intermediate waypoints, runner's bag, test jersey, race number and chip, FINISHER detail, refreshments, mechanical workshop at Ground Zero and various points of the course, a medical service and photographs among others.

Only those who make use of the refund insurance may be entitled to reimboursement of registration fees for any reason. Registrations will not be returned to participants who do not have this insurance, even in the event of force majeure outside the organization. Yes, it is possible to request reimbursement of the registration fee in the event that the organization is forced to change the date of the event due to COVID or another pandemic / epidemic.

The race regulations stipulate the conditions under which participants with cancellation insurance can request a reimbursement of the registration fee.

A change of ownership of the holder will also be authorized as long as it is before April 25, 2022.

You can participate in individual categories or in teams (pairs or teams of 3) in the male, female or mixed categories. In the individual test you can also participate in the e-Bike category.

The test will take place on roads open to traffic, so road safety rules must be observed at all times.
