Maratona Dles Dolomites 2024

Now Open

Description

The Dolomites are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making them a unique and spectacular cycling scenery. In the Dolomites, there are no flat landscapes, or you are climbing the slopes hard or enjoying exciting descents.

Now in its 37th year, the Maratona dles Dolomites – Enel is unlike any other cycling event in Europe. The starting corrals are superbly organized and as soon as you start pedaling, you’ll understand why this cycling event is so revered. Spectators line the villages as helicopters buzz overhead, capturing the elite race for Italian sports channels. Locals offer you pastries, pastries, and coffee along the way, while cow bells and Tyrolean whips echo through the valleys.

The climbs themselves are magnificent. With most of them having relatively gentle slopes, you can really get into a rhythm. Apart from the Passo Giau, no climb is too difficult. The descents are exhilarating and the views over the rugged Dolomites offer some of the most breathtaking panoramas in Europe. Our favorite climb is the Falzarego, which offers amazing views of the valley below. Downhill enthusiasts will like the impressive 10km descent from Arabba to Cernadoi.

  • Guaranteed entry to one of the largest and most prestigious cycling events in Europe.
  • Fully organized trip. Guides with local knowledge.
  • Cycle the famous Sella Ronda route or passes such as Giau.
  • Enjoy the wonderful views of the Dolomites.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival

Arrival in Venice. We'll be waiting to take you to the hotel if you choose our airport transfer. Relax, use the spa, and enjoy snacks and dinner.

Day 2 - Guided Ride

Let's get those legs ready for the cycling event. We'll check your bike, and you can also pick up your race bib and runner's bag. We offer guided routes from the hotel. We'll do the Sella Ronda route, 52 km of the most inspiring cycling you've ever done. The stage passes through Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, and Gardena. 1,800 meters of positive elevation gain. It will tune you up for the big event, with gradients not exceeding 7%. If you prefer not to push too hard, we'll offer an alternative for a shorter route, pick up your bib, and return.

Day 3 - Rest Day

It's the day before the race. You can join our guided route if you want, but we recommend resting. If you prefer to ride, the route will start in Corvara, climbing Gardena from both sides. We'll stop for coffee in Gardena, so you can do just one climb.

Day 4 - Maratona Dles Dolomites

We'll start very early. Breakfast will be served around 5:15 a.m., and you need to be at the starting line by 6:15 a.m. (15 minutes before the race starts). The roads are closed to traffic, so the idea is to ride to warm up from the hotel to the start. You can choose the distance you prefer in the cycling event. At the end of the race, we'll be waiting for you at the Love Velo space at the finish line. Enjoy a cold beer and relax by eating pizza in the tavern or head back to the hotel for a good shower. You decide!

Day 5 - Return Home

We hope you've enjoyed one of the best cycling events in Europe and the stunning Dolomites. Coordinate with us for our airport transfer schedules.
