SELECCIÓN MTB TENERIFE: El Tanque – Arenas Negras – Chinyero

This mountain bike route starts in the municipality of El Tanque, at an altitude of 600 metres.

The first 4.5kms are very demanding, on slightly broken tarmac with ramps of between 12 and 15% until we reach San José de Los Llanos.

From here, we will enter the unique tracks of Tenerife, with earth, vegetation and volcanic rock, and one of the most famous, such as Arenas Negras, where you can rest in its recreational area.

We will link up with the Canal de Vergara track, in an area to enjoy with almost no gradient and with views that seem to be from another planet.

We return along Canal de Vergara towards the volcanic area of Chinyero, entering its Special Nature Reserve.

The tracks are still black, in a landscape that is practically unique in Spain. Moreover, we are already on a downhill slope, so this is sure to be one of the sections of the route that you will enjoy the most, and an essential visit for lovers of fat tyres visiting Tenerife.

We will return to El Tanque by the same asphalted road that we climbed at the beginning.
