Description

Upon arriving in Puente Genil, history resurfaces with strength. Entering through the Puente de la Unión, you’ll pass by the La Alianza Flour Mill and Hydroelectric Plant, and the Parish of Jesús Nazareno—symbols of the city’s rich historical, artistic, and cultural heritage.

This stage, known as PuenteGenil_Baena, features an elevation gain of 646 meters, offering a scenic and culturally immersive ride.

The final stage of this branch route leads to Almedinilla. Departing from Puente Genil, a visit to the Roman Villa of Fuente Álamo is a must. The route then continues along the Vía Verde del Aceite, one of the most important greenways in all of Andalusia.

Along the way, you’ll pass through Navas del SelpillarLucena, and Cabra, crossing the Viaduct of La Sima, tunnels, and the stretch through Doña Mencía, until reconnecting with the original route in Luque.

This final segment covers a total distance of 74.06 kilometers, making it a rewarding journey through landscapes steeped in Roman legacy and natural beauty.
