Eurovelo 1: Route along the Atlantic Coast
The route crosses the Iberian Peninsula from north to south, from Irún to Ayamonte (border town with Portugal), passing through beautiful towns in Navarra, La Rioja, Castilla y León, Extremadura and Andalusia. Eurovelo1 route starts in Spain in the green land of Navarra, passing through Pamplona and traveling part of the Camino de Santiago until La Rioja, where we will visit the Monasterios de Yuso and Suso en San Millán de la Cogolla (Rioja). We will enjoy landscapes full of vineyards to make an obligatory stop to taste the famous Riojas and Riberas del Duero wines.
Our passage through Castilla y León will be a journey through history, discovering the Camino de Santiago, the Canal de Castilla, the Route del Duero and the old Ruta Vía de la Plata, which will take us to Andalusia. In the last section of Eurovelo 1, spots as beautiful as the Minas de Río Tinto to finally reach the historic Andalusian town of La Rábida.
