Description
The Aragón Bike Race Calatayud will take place on March 8, (date not yet officially confirmed) in Calatayud, Zaragoza, bringing back one of the most established MTB events in Aragón. The race is part of the region’s multi‑stage MTB calendar and continues to attract riders looking for a challenging early‑season mountain‑bike competition.
In previous editions, the event followed a four‑stage format, featuring a time‑trial prologue and three marathon stages across the surrounding sierras of Vícor and Armantes. These mountain areas are known for their steep climbs, rugged terrain and scenic tracks, including well‑known segments such as the Castillo de San Roque, the Guano descent and long climbs into the mountain ridgelines.
Stages have typically started and finished in key areas of Calatayud, such as the recinto ferial, the Ciudad Deportiva, or the Paseo Cortes de Aragón, forming the core of the event’s logistics. The race has also historically attracted a mix of elite riders, experienced amateurs and MTB enthusiasts, thanks to its UCI‑approved status in earlier editions and its growing national recognition.
While the official 2027 routes and stage profiles have not yet been published, riders can expect the usual combination of technical singletrack, long climbs, rocky terrain and fast descents that define the Aragón Bike Race Calatayud. Registration details, stage formats and final schedules are expected to follow the structure of recent editions, which offered full‑race, half‑race and single‑stage entry options.
The event remains one of Aragón’s most dynamic MTB competitions, bringing together sportive atmosphere, demanding mountain terrain and the unique landscapes of the Calatayud region.
