Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada

In May, Salou (Cataluña) hosts the Challenge Salou, a major event approved with the UCI seal in triathlon mode (Swimming, Cycling, Running).

Organized by the Ajuntament de Salou, this event is one of the most anticipated triathlons of the year in Tarragona.

The race

The Challenge Salou route, El recorrido, is divided into race formats (long, medium or short distance). All routes pass through the port area of Salou, including the beach and the center.

The one-loop swimming course takes place in shallow water in front of the beach and with a view of the Ebro Delta and the Serra de la Mussara. The bike route consists of three loops on the motorway, which allows high average speeds to be reached. And the 4-loop running course takes place almost exclusively by the sea, so you can get to know the Costa Daurada inside out.
