Description
ICAN Gandía will take place on Saturday, October, in Gandía, on the Mediterranean coast of the Valencian Community, eastern Spain. This event is one of the most established long‑distance triathlons in Spain and a key end‑of‑season reference for athletes competing in middle and long distance formats.
The race is held in a coastal environment with fully closed and fast circuits. The swim takes place inside the Port of Gandía, offering calm waters and excellent visibility. The bike segment runs on wide, flat roads along the coast and surrounding areas, designed to favour steady pacing and efficiency. The run unfolds along the seaside promenade, combining multiple laps in a highly spectator‑friendly setting.
ICAN Gandía offers several race formats. The Full Distance consists of a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and 42.2 km run, designed for experienced long‑distance triathletes. The Half Distance includes a 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike and 21.1 km run, providing a demanding but more accessible endurance challenge. Additional formats include Short Distance and Aquabike options, which allow athletes to focus on swim‑bike combinations.
The event is run under non‑drafting rules, placing emphasis on individual performance, pacing and technical execution. Flat circuits, reliable weather conditions and a highly organised race structure make ICAN Gandía an ideal setting both for athletes aiming to finish strong and for those seeking personal bests.
With its combination of long‑standing tradition, high‑quality organisation, fast courses and Mediterranean atmosphere, ICAN Gandía has established itself as a reference event in the Spanish triathlon calendar, attracting both national and international athletes each October.
