Mozárabe Bike Race

For the 2026 edition, the event evolved into a 100% Almería‑based format, with both start and finish in the city, while maintaining the unmistakable DNA that has defined the Mozárabe Bike Race from its origins. The route delivered a tough mountain‑bike experience combining singletrack, dry riverbeds, technical trails and fast tracks, all set within the arid and mountainous landscapes that characterise the province of Almería.

The course covered approximately 70 km with close to 2,000 metres of positive elevation gain, making it a physically demanding race from start to finish. The terrain required strong bike‑handling skills and solid physical preparation, staying true to the philosophy of the Mozárabe Bike Race as an event where effort, resilience and adventure are part of the experience. The 2026 edition also included e‑MTB categories, with dedicated classifications.

Throughout its different editions, the Mozárabe Bike Race has built a strong identity linked to Andalucía’s interior landscapes, blending sport, history and territory. Whether in its ultra‑distance origins linking Granada and Almería or in its more compact formats, the race continues to offer riders a unique opportunity to explore some of the most rugged and authentic MTB terrain in southern Spain.

The Mozárabe Bike Race 2026 reinforced the event’s reputation as a true endurance challenge, aimed at mountain bikers who value demanding routes, raw landscapes and the spirit of long‑distance adventure over mass‑participation racing.
