Nova Eroica Gran Sasso

Unlike the classic Eroica, there is no need to participate with a vintage bike: gravel, road, and cyclocross bikes are all welcome. The routes cross valleys, high plateaus and ancient tratturi used for transhumance, reviving the epic spirit of the great exploits of Coppi, Bartali and company.

2026 Routes

The event offers four route options for all levels:

137 km – Gravel
The most demanding route, crossing the impressive Campo Imperatore plateau and high mountain terrain.

92 km – Road
A fully paved route with 1,830 m of elevation gain, ideal for enjoying the scenery with a well-balanced sporting challenge.

80 km – Gravel
A varied course that passes through five of the most emblematic villages of the Gran Sasso area.

60 km – Road
An unforgettable itinerary that leads to Rocca di Calascio, the highest castle in Italy, and through the charming villages of Abruzzo: Calascio, Santo Stefano di Sessanio, Castelvecchio Calvisio and Castel del Monte.
