Description
RiderMan is a three-day amateur stage race in Bad Dürrheim, in the Black Forest of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The official website lists the next edition for Friday 3 to Sunday 5 September 2027. In 2026 the format was a stage race for amateur riders: an individual time trial on Friday, a road race on Saturday and a road race on Sunday that closed the overall standings. The organiser states on its website that all race routes are fully closed to traffic. Routes, distances and prices for 2027 have not been published yet, so the details below describe the 2026 edition (4 to 6 September 2026), which is the latest official one.
Routes and distances
In 2026 the race consisted of three stages, all starting in Bad Dürrheim.
Stage 1 was an individual time trial of 16.1 km with 226 m of climbing in 2026, and a single categorised climb (KOM) at km 1.1.
Stage 2, the Königsetappe, was a road race of 112.9 km with 1,520 m of climbing in 2026 and a highest point of 847 m. It is the heart of the event: after an early test at km 5.1, the route rolls through the high plateau of the Baar and the eastern Black Forest. The main climbs were Öfingen (2.2 km at 5.6%), the short, steep Riedböhringen (1.2 km at 8.0%) and Fürstenberg (0.8 km at 7.6%), before a second crossing of Öfingen and the long, gentle Lupfen drag at km 90.9, which carried bonus points in 2026. The organiser placed feed zones at km 45.3 and km 82.2.
Stage 3 was a road race of 95.0 km with 1,239 m of climbing in 2026. It included Hausen (2.3 km at 5.7%) and the steepest ramp of the weekend, Lupfen at km 41.6 (1.2 km at 9.2%), then Öfingen from another side and a short kick at Pfohren. Feed zones were at km 32.0 and km 59.8.

In 2026 the Saturday stage required a minimum average speed of 23 km/h and the Sunday stage 24 km/h. Sunday started in blocks A to D, and a separate day-starter race with its own classification and podium used the Sunday route. The organiser publishes official GPX files and road books (Marschtabellen) for each stage, and the Saturday and Sunday stages were shown live on YouTube.

No 2027 registration details have been published yet. For 2026, online registration opened on 24 October 2025 and ran until 29 August 2026. Entry was open to riders born in 2007 or earlier, with or without a club; members of a UCI-registered sports group were excluded.

The Sunday-only day start cost from 75 euros to 135 euros depending on the tier, and day starters could not enter the Friday time trial. Starting places cannot be transferred. In 2026, bib collection took place at the Haus des Bürgers, Luisenstraße 7, Bad Dürrheim, on Friday and early on Sunday morning.
Full details are on the official website.
Why ride it
The event is a proper stage race for amateurs, with a time trial, two road stages and a general classification, rather than a single-day sportive. In 2026 it was held together with the Jan Ullrich Cycling Festival and alongside the German championships and Rad-Bundesliga rounds for women and juniors, so the town is busy with racing all weekend. The climbing is short and steep rather than alpine: 1,520 m in 112.9 km on the Saturday stage in 2026, with a highest point of 847 m. Short, steep ramps of 8 to 9% punctuate the plateau roads of the Black Forest.
Where to stay
In 2026 the time trial was on the Friday and bib collection was held in Bad Dürrheim, so arriving the day before is sensible. Check the organiser’s website for accommodation suggestions. We do not yet list a certified cycling-friendly hotel near Bad Dürrheim, but you can browse more cycling-friendly accommodation and book early, as the event spans three days.
