Islantilla – Río Piedras
Description
Mountain bike route that starts at the Islantilla Active Centre and takes us along several sections of the Piedras River, reaching the reservoir of the same name.
A highlight is the passage over the La Tavirona Bridge, an iron bridge that was once part of the Huelva-Ayamonte railway line.
Built in 1931 using the remains of an old train carriage, it is an 80-metre-long feat of engineering. The route is somewhat challenging due to the ascents and descents it traverses.
