Ruta e-MTB: Pic de l’Orri – Comes de Rubió
Description
Ruta e-MTB: Pic de l’Orri – Comes de Rubió, provisional starting point from a forest track accessible from a bend on the road ascending to Port Ainé (LV‑5224), located before reaching the ski resort. This starting point must be confirmed. The route ends at the same point where it begins.
The route starts on a high‑mountain forest track and climbs gradually through the Alt Pirineu Natural Park. The first objective is to reach the summit of Pic de l’Orri (2,439 m), a key panoramic viewpoint along the route. From there, the route continues towards the Comes de Rubió Refuge and its surrounding natural environment, before returning along the same track.
The entire route runs along forest tracks and the terrain may include sections with loose sand and loose stones, so caution is advised, especially on descents. It is a physically and technically demanding route in certain sections, and the use of an electric bike is ideal due to the accumulated elevation gain. It is strongly recommended to carry sufficient water, energy food, sun protection and appropriate equipment, paying special attention on sections with loose surfaces.
If you rent a bike, it can be delivered directly to the selected starting point of the route and collected once the route is completed. Maitantbikes provides a full pickup and drop‑off service so you can ride without worrying about transport or logistics.
Highlights along the route include the summit of Pic de l’Orri, offering 360° views over the Catalan Pyrenees, the Comes de Rubió Refuge, which is an ideal place to take a break surrounded by nature, and the high‑mountain environment typical of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park. The route crosses subalpine pine forests and high‑altitude meadows, where it is possible to observe birds of prey, chamois, marmots and, in season, a wide variety of alpine flora, making this a truly unique mountain biking experience.
Extra info: 32 km route with an estimated duration of 4–5 hours, medium–high difficulty and a total elevation gain of +1,100 m. Route type: linear.
