Tour d’Energie
Description
Tour d’Energie is an amateur road race (a “Jedermann” race, open to ordinary club and recreational riders rather than licensed professionals) based in Göttingen, Lower Saxony, in central Germany. The next edition’s date has not been announced yet: the organiser published the 2026 date in August 2025, and no 2027 date is on the official website at the time of writing. The most recent edition took place on Sunday 26 April 2026, starting from the Jahnstadion in Göttingen, with the finish area on Bürgerstraße / Gauß-Weber-Anlage in the city. Everything below describes the 2026 edition and should be treated as a guide to what to expect, not a confirmed 2027 programme.
Routes and distances
In 2026 the organiser offered two routes for adults, both starting in Göttingen and both with an official route document and GPX data. The organiser did not publish elevation figures or climb-by-climb profiles on the pages we could read, so check the GPX file and the route PDF for the exact profile.
The short route covered 45 km, and the 2026 route document names places including Volkerode, Jühnde, Rosdorf, Dransfeld, Scheden, Hoher Hagen and Dramfeld. The long route covered 100 km and names around 33 places, among them Jühnde, Hann. Münden, Kloster Bursfelde, Hemeln, the Bramwald and Dransfeld, in the Werra and Weser valleys.
The 100 km route changed at short notice in 2026. On 20 April 2026 the organiser announced that a closed road section between Mollenfelde and Atzenhausen meant the course would run from Mollenfelde via the L3468 to Hedemünden, then along the B80 to Lippoldshausen, rejoining the usual course in Wiershausen. An updated GPX file was published, so download the latest file shortly before the event.
Alongside the two main routes, the organiser runs youth events in the city centre called the Mini-Taggi-Tour, Medi-Taggi-Tour and Taggi-Tour; in 2026 the Taggi-Tour was a 2.5 km course with a turnaround at the Rosdorfer Kreisel.

In 2026 late registrants were placed in the last start block and their bib carried no participant name. Bib collection took place at the Jahnstadion on the Saturday and on the morning of race day, and you needed your registration confirmation. Route and team changes were no longer possible once Saturday’s collection began. Official GPX data for both routes was offered as a single zip download on the Strecken page, with PDF route documents alongside. Time limits and feed station locations were not stated on the pages we read.
Registration
Registration for the 2026 edition opened online on 7 January 2026 and ran until 5 April 2026, with late registration possible until 25 April 2026 and, subject to places being available, on race day. The price rose in steps. In 2026 the 45 km cost 65 EUR from 7 to 31 January, 75 EUR from 1 February to 15 March and 85 EUR from 16 March to 5 April; the 100 km cost 75 EUR, 85 EUR and 95 EUR in the same periods.
Late entries between 6 and 25 April cost 99 EUR (45 km) or 109 EUR (100 km), and race-day entries 119 EUR or 129 EUR. Young riders born in 2008 or later paid 35 EUR for either route. Expect the 2027 schedule and prices to be published on the official site once the date is set.
Full details are on the official website.
Why ride it
The organiser’s route documents show a course that links Göttingen with the countryside of the surrounding district and the towns and monasteries of the Werra and Weser valleys, including Hann. Münden and Kloster Bursfelde. The event is more than one race: a family of youth tours runs in the city centre on the same day, and the organiser also runs a beginners’ ride for women ahead of the event, which over 30 women rode in April 2025. According to a 2025 news item on the official site, the Tour d’Energie took part in the Wattasia Weltpokal, an open race series. Teams can be entered at registration, so clubs and workplaces can ride together.
Where to stay
The organiser points riders to Göttingen-Tourismus for hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments, and notes that overnight stays in a sports hall near the start are possible for a fee, bookable during registration. Motorhome riders can use the Reisemobilhafen at the Badeparadies Eiswiese. The organiser also advises that parking at the Jahnstadion is limited and suggests the Schützenplatz. Staying in central Göttingen the night before lets you collect your bib the day before and keeps the morning simple. Book early once the date is announced, and browse more cycling-friendly accommodation.
In 2026 both routes started from Sandweg at the Jahnstadion in Göttingen, and the finish area was on Bürgerstraße / Gauß-Weber-Anlage. The date of the next edition has not been announced yet.
In 2026 there were two routes, 45 km and 100 km, plus youth tours in the city centre. The pages we read gave no elevation figures, so check the official GPX and route PDFs.
