Description
The Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote will take place on October, offering a non‑competitive stage cycling event that covers the entire island of Lanzarote in two days. Organised by Club La Santa, the event promotes the philosophy of Cycling for Everyone, combining sport, nature and cultural discovery in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
The route crosses all seven municipalities of Lanzarote, guiding participants through volcanic landscapes, coastal roads and traditional villages. Across the two stages, riders will cover approximately 189 km on closed roads, enjoying a unique cycling experience shaped by the island’s dramatic terrain and Atlantic scenery.
Stage 1 starts at Club La Santa and finishes in Puerto del Carmen, passing through areas such as Famara, Teguise, Haría, Mirador del Río, Arrieta and Arrecife. The stage includes challenging time trials, including the climb from Haría to Mirador del Río, adding a sportive element for those who wish to test their limits. Stage 2 returns riders from Puerto del Carmen back to Club La Santa via La Geria, Femés, Playa Blanca, Timanfaya and Mancha Blanca, once again combining rolling terrain with selective ascents.
The event is known for its festive and social atmosphere, with feed stations transformed into lively fan zones where locals and visitors cheer the peloton. More than 600 cyclists from over 28 countries participated in previous editions, riding alongside professional cyclists and well‑known ambassadors in an environment designed to encourage shared experiences and personal achievement rather than competition.
With the support of local authorities, tourism institutions and the Canary and Spanish Cycling Federations, the Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote has become one of the most distinctive cycling events in the Canary Islands, offering participants the chance to discover the island from coast to coast while enjoying a safe, well‑organised and truly memorable cycling weekend.
