ADAC Velotour – Taunus Express
Description
The Taunus Express is the middle option: about 85 km in 2026, and the shorter of the two routes over the Großer Feldberg. It starts in Eschborn, passes through Frankfurt and heads out through Oberursel.
At Oberursel the Express and Classic riders turn right towards the Feldberg, which is the main climb of the day; in 2026 the organiser’s Tissot King and Queen of the Mountain times for the Feldberg were 24:43 and 28:52. No length or gradient is published, so study the profile image on the official page. After Schwalbach the Express turns back towards Eschborn, while the Classic continues to the Mammolshainer Stich.
The organiser sets a minimum average speed of about 25 km/h, with the sweep wagon using fixed cut-off points. The organiser’s FAQ lists feed stations on this route, and the official GPX and points-of-interest files for the 2026 route are available.
