Alonsotegui – Pagasarri

MTB cycling route from the municipality of Alonsotegi, located on the border with Bilbao. In the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, we will follow the sign that marks the beginning of the ascent to Pagasarri, one of the mythical climbs of Bizkaia. There are several routes, but we will take the track towards Fuente de Oro.

The route runs along forest tracks surrounded by pine forests. Depending on the time of year, leaf litter can be a nice challenge. During the route we enjoy a magnificent environment, observing the mountain fauna in pure freedom.

Before reaching the summit, we will come across a set of 17th century snow coolers, then an exceptional food preserver. Unbeatable views inviting to ascend slowly, but if we continue, we will soon have crowned the Pagasarri and enjoy one of the best viewpoints in Bizkaia: on one side, Bilbao, with its unmistakable landmarks; to the other, Enkarterri.
