Prueba Ciclista Vitoria
Description
Route of the Prueba Ciclista Vitoria, a cycling event held in Vitoria-Gastéiz.
Starting at the Estadio de Mendizorrotza (Stadium), leaving Vitoria to the north, passing the Embalse Ullibarri-Gamboa (reservoir) and crossing the Vitoria plain with the Sierra de Elgea mountain range until it reaches Salvatierra/Agurain.
From there, cycling to the Puerto de Opakua, then descending to San Vicente de Arana and starting a new ascent to Santa Teodosia. Another descent to Maeztu to then take on the challenge of the Montaña Alavesa, passing through the Parque Natural de Izki, descending towards Bernedo. Once there, we will cross Lagrán, Peñacerrada and Zambrana to the historic Cuadrilla de Añana.
The final section of the route takes us from the Dólmen de Ribaguda to Añana, ascending the Alto de Tejera. Once this last challenge is overcome, the end is a pleasant descent towards Nanclares de la Oca, passing through Asteguieta and entering Vitoria-Gasteiz to finish a route of 217 km and a slope of 2,677 m.
