Playa de Muro – Lluc – Pla de Mallorca Gravel
Description
A 98.1 km gravel loop starting and finishing in Playa de Muro, aimed at riders with good fitness who want to combine the climb to the Lluc sanctuary with the quiet farm country of the Pla de Mallorca.
The route leaves Playa de Muro on dirt tracks along the edge of S’Albufera towards Sa Pobla, then follows rural lanes and short gravel sections through Campanet, Moscari and Caimari. From Caimari it climbs to Lluc on the paved Ma-2130 mountain road, as the old pilgrims’ path is a rocky footpath with sections closed to bikes.
After descending to Selva, the return crosses the Pla de Mallorca through Llubí, Maria de la Salut and Muro on a network of camins rurals and farm tracks, finishing with another stretch of unpaved tracks back to the coast. Most of the route runs on quiet paved farm lanes, with roughly a fifth of the distance on unpaved surfaces, so tyres of around 40 mm are a good choice.
Lluc and the villages along the way are the best places to refill water and stop for a coffee.
