Galdames – Orduña – Humaran

The route starts in Galdames, crosses Sopuerta and, after passing the Alto de Abellaneda – where we will find the emblematic building of the former Casa de Juntas de Enkarterri – descends to Balmaseda. From the first town in Bizkaia, we will continue on to Artziniega (Araba) between impossible bends and some of the most bucolic landscapes.

In Artziniega we will head for Orduña, the only municipality in Bizkaia that holds the title of city. Curiously, it is located in Araba, outside the limits of the historical territory. At its feet rises the imposing Sierra Salvada mountain range, which will be the backdrop for our return journey to Enkarterri. To do this, we will cross Valle de Aiara, with its wild landscapes, from Laudio to Okondo.

Once back in Enkarterri, we will leave behind Zaldu (Gordexola), Sodupe and Güeñes, and we will return to Galdames through the Alto de Humaran.
