R04 VUELTA AL MON ASIESO Y ALERO

Circular route heading north from Jaca, reaching by track the surroundings of the Grosín peak. From the upper part of the Grosín forest, with beautiful views towards Peña Oroel, San Juan de la Peña and the Canal de Berdún, the first descent starts along an old, rather rocky path that leads to the Castetillo ravine, near Canias.

The second climb, on a trail up to the base of Monte Alero, will be a real challenge and will probably make us get off and push. We will catch our breath during the second descent, along a not too technical trail down to Guasillo.

It is a rather short but demanding route. The descents are not very technical but a bit stony, so they will also delight the more hardcore cyclists.

This route also takes us, along a trail of ups and downs, to the top of the Jaca hydroelectric power plant, from where we start the last descent, very short but entertaining, down to the bank of the Aragón river.
