R06 VALLE NORTE V1 – HUMERA EN BERGOSA

Description

Circular MTB route from Jaca that crosses Monte Rapitán and then takes us to the uninhabited village of Bergosa, an exceptional viewpoint over the Aragón valley.

We climb by track to the Albarín pass. The climb has steep ramps, so it is better to take it calmly and pace yourself. Once at the pass, we continue downhill on the track and in the distance we will already see the ruins of Bergosa.

Once in Bergosa we may want to stop and reflect; the place helps. Or we can continue the route to enjoy the descent trail that takes us to Castiello. The trail is manageable at the start but has some tricky technical sections in its final part; this will be the only technical difficulty on the route.

We reach the mouth of the Ijuez river on the Aragón and from here we set off on the return along the bank of the Aragón river and the Camino de Santiago (watch out for hikers). Finally we climb towards the village of Asieso and, passing through the marl formations, we cross the Aragón river by the old San Miguel bridge.
