Vía Verde de La Orkonera
Description
The route follows the route of the old Franco-Belgian mining railway, which ran from Retuerto (Barakaldo) to the mines of La Arboleda (Trapagaran).
The Vía Verde (Greenway) starts from the upper section of the Ugarte district (Trapagaran) and runs along the slopes of the Triano mountains amidst Atlantic vegetation and a beautiful view of the Somorrostro valley. The route passes through up to seven tunnels through which old trains passed.
The section of the Vía Verde (Greenway) ends in the area of La Orkonera, in Ortuella
