This gravel route begins in Ribadesella and explores the rural landscapes of eastern Asturias, following a network of quiet country roads and gravel tracks. The name “Iglesias del Este” (“Churches of the East”) refers to the many historic churches scattered throughout the area, some of which are visible from the route or accessible via short detours.
The terrain is varied, with compact gravel sections, farm tracks, and low-traffic paved roads. The route offers scenic views of the Cantabrian coast, green valleys, and traditional Asturian architecture.
