Ribadesella: Ruta de los Molinos – Monte Moru
Description
This 22.2 km circular mountain biking route with 487 meters of elevation gain starts in the town of Ribadesella and winds through a landscape rich in history and nature. The trail follows rural paths and forest tracks, passing by the remains of old water mills and climbing up to Monte Moru.
The ascent offers a moderate physical challenge, rewarded with panoramic views of the Asturian coast and inland valleys. The descent includes some technical sections that add excitement to the ride.
Highlights:
-Traditional mills: Along the route, you’ll find remnants of historic water mills, some in ruins and others partially preserved.
-Monte Moru: The highest point of the route, offering stunning views of the Cantabrian Sea and, on clear days, the Picos de Europa.
-Natural surroundings: The trail passes through native forests of oak, chestnut, and hazel trees, with opportunities to spot local wildlife.
