SELECCIÓN TOP TENERIFE: Garachico – El Tanque – Tierra de Trigo – Punta de Teno
Description
You can’t go cycling in Tenerife and not visit the Punta de Teno lighthouse. A magical place that every cyclist should visit at some point.
But first we have a route that will offer us different spectacular landscapes, such as a very demanding but also very unique start, with the ascent to Las Cruces, of second category and with 7.1 kilometres at an average of 6.7%.
You will add metres of positive vertical gain between steep hairpin bends that will allow you to see the sea in a pass that looks like an alpine pass but with landscapes of Tenerife.
But if you have found it difficult to enjoy them due to the effort of the climb, we provide you with a descent that also offers this type of views and curves that are ideal for cyclists.
After visiting the Lomo Molino viewpoint, you will descend through Las Arenas towards Buenavista del Norte and head towards Punta de Teno. Many kilometres of road closed to motorised traffic await you, perfect for enjoying the unique scenery with steep hills and a 4 km descent to the lighthouse.
On the way back, you will have to climb the same distance with some 9-10% ramps, but once you have overcome this difficulty, the rest of the route to Garachico is flat or downhill, taking advantage of secondary roads such as La Montaña.
