Calas del Norte de El Campello Route
Description
The route starts at the Torre de la Isleta in El Campello, where secure bike parking, repair and inflation stations will be installed. From there, take Calle Torre, turn onto Calle de San Bartolomé and continue along Avenida de la Almadrava to Carrer dels Pins. This last stretch includes a marked level crossing that must be crossed at the pedestrian crossing to ensure safety. Once past this point, continue towards Avinguda de Cocentaina, passing through an underpass towards Calle Déntol and continuing to Playa de l’Amerador, where there will also be short-stay parking.
The route returns along Avinguda de Cocentaina and Calle Fodniella, heading to Carrer Els Ports and climbing Calle Madrid, with an average gradient of 4%. From there, descend towards Calle de Bélgica, with initial ramps of 9% and rolling sections with views of Cala Coveta Fumà. Then take Calle Daia Nova towards Cala Piteres, facing ramps of up to 13% before the descent to the cove. From this point, continue along Avenida América, with demanding short climbs, towards the junction at Playa de les Llomes de Reixes.
On the return section, take Calle Sagunt, passing the Cala Piteres Recreation Area and connecting with Calle París, one of the hardest segments, with gradients above 12%. Begin the descent along Calle Córdoba, reaching Avenida Central, which is flat with a short rise after the roundabout. Then continue along Calle Jaén and descend towards Carrer dels Ports, a well-paved road with limited traffic. Afterwards, return to Calle Fodniella and rejoin Calle Cocentaina, characterised by its rolling profile.
Finally, the itinerary concludes by taking the same pedestrian crossing as at the start and riding Carrer dels Pins, Avenida de la Almadrava and Calle de San Bartolomé. To reach the Torre again, Calle del Tío Galvany is used instead of the original, as it has a no-entry restriction on the return section. This design ensures a varied and safe experience for cyclists on a route with adapted infrastructure and adequate signage.
