Description

The final extra segment takes us to Catalonia, to the historic city of Tarraco (modern-day Tarragona). Once the capital of the Roman province of Hispania Citerior, it offers an urban cycling route that showcases some of the most outstanding archaeological sites on the Iberian Peninsula.

The route winds through streets rich in living heritage, passing key landmarks such as the Roman Amphitheatre, the Praetorium and Roman Circus, the Archaeological Promenade, the Colonial Forum, the Mediterranean BalconyCasa Canals, the Volta del Pallol with its Tarraco mapping, and the Cathedral.

Covering a distance of 10.27 kilometers with an elevation gain of 220 meters, this route is mostly along existing bike lanes and shared spaces, connecting the maritime district of El Serrallo with the Les Ferreres Aqueduct (Pont del Diable), one of the best-preserved Roman aqueducts in the world.

A short but monumental route, perfect for a relaxed day that combines sustainable mobilityurban cycling, and the chance to experience Roman history at pedal level.
